about

Also released in 2014 as our first single, with a corresponding music video youtu.be/dgqQZoeJUcs

This song tells of the route my Dad always took when bringing Mum to Norfolk before they were married. His nostalgic route home used to wind us up as kids, but I think I've got my own back. Featuring some local favourites; The Nelson Head in Horsey, Potter Height Fish & Chip Shop & playing Dominoes with my Uncle Rod.

lyrics

B1159

Gonna drive this old Sierra down the B1159
Sure there may be faster routes that could take half the time
The kids have almost gone insane the wife & I don't mind
Gonna drive this old Sierra down the B1159

On our way back from Nottingham to see family & friends
Staying with the in-laws sure drives you round the bend
But instead of heading straight back home to bring pain to an end
Gonna take the longest route I can; through Bacton, Sidestrand, Overstrand, it's such a kinda local joke

Gonna drive this old Sierra down the B1159
Sure there may be faster routes that could take half the time
The kids have almost gone insane the wife & I don't mind
Gonna drive this old Sierra down the B1159

Got held right up through Grantham and boy I swore & cursed
Yelled, don't you know I've got to go, and M's dying of thirst
But the 47 through Kings Lynn is too direct at first
And the speed limit is much to quick "it's 60 at its worst"

I'm Gonna drive this old Sierra down the B1159
Sure there may be faster routes that could take half the time
The kids have almost gone insane the wife & I don't mind
Gonna drive this old Sierra down the B1159

Back when we were courting we would used to come this way
fuel back then was half a crown & you paid the bloke in hay
& fish & chips at Potter Heigham & Nelson place to play
Dominoes with uncle Rod a legend round this way

I'm Gonna drive this old Sierra down the B1159
Sure there may be faster routes that could take half the time
The kids have almost gone insane the wife & I don't mind
Gonna drive this old Sierra down the B1159

Was chatting with our landlord about a week ago
Told him of our journey home, the route we liked to go
And he paused, for a minute, thinking something up y'know
And all that he retorted was "that's not the way to go"

I'm Gonna drive this old Sierra down the B1159
Sure there may be faster routes that could take half the time
The kids have almost gone insane the wife & I don't mind
Gonna drive this old Sierra down the B1159

Gonna drive this old Sierra down the B1159
If it's the last thing I do before my kids kill me
